Scope of Work (DRC)

Coaches of different types viz, Pantry cars, II AC, AC first class, Chair cars, passenger carrying coaches, Second sleeper coaches, saloons and other second class SLR coaches totaling approximately daily in Primary maintenance and approximately daily in Secondary maintenance.

Broad Gauge coaches should be cleaned intensively both internally & externally & underneath trolley with extruded fittings during the maintenance daily at CHENNAI, Coach Maintenance Depot and turnaround trains on platforms for a period of 3 years, using trained Manpower, Machines, Cleaning Solvents, Materials & Hand tools, accessories as per project specifications. The set of coaches could be in the form of rake composition or spare coaches available at Sick line, IOH or stabling lines as per the requirement of Railways.

 

Primary cleaning of coaches

The scope of work for different types of coaches has been detailed as follows:

  1. Exterior Coach cleaning including end panels, curved surface of roof and turn under.
  2. Interior Coach cleaning including:
    1. Lavatories including the side panels and the amenity fittings inside.
    2. Wash basins both inside and outside of toilets.
    3. Aluminum chequered plate or door and vestibule area.
    4. Electrical fittings
    5. Cushioned berths including Rexine.
    6. Coach interior wall panels
    7. Window Glasses and Mirrors
    8. Interior floor particularly the areas below the lower berths, Aisle portion and between berths.
    9. Vestibules area.
  3. Pantry Car

Detailed Scope of Work for Secondary Cleaning of Coaches

Secondary cleaning of coaches are done for those trains which halts for a short while and belongs to other railway. During its short halt, following activities are necessary to be performed under cleaning operation

Scope of Work for Depot Premise Cleaning

Coaching Depot has washing lines, pit lines apart from sick line of Sqmtrs area, depot building and associated yard majority of which requires mechanized cleaning. Balance area requires manual sweeping & garbage pick up.

  1. Collection and disposal of garbage, scrap other unwanted/rejected materials left in the work place to nominated locations. Mechanized sweeping of the area.
  2. Mechanized cleaning and disinfection of office building & sick line every day etc.
  3. Degreasing and disinfection of Pit and apron once a month.
  4. Desilting of drains and sewerage lines  in the coaching complex
  5. Collection and disposal of garbage from yard ,removal of vegetation growth, pit line, washing lines Cleaning/Picking of garbage from yard and should be done once in a week. The contractor should take adequate care to prevent littering of garbage in the yard.
